PharmaIN Corporation, headquartered in Seattle, WA,
is a leading developer of affinity-based drug delivery solutions
for biotech and pharmaceutical applications. Our business strategy
focuses on developing superior drug therapies using our proprietary,
novel drug delivery platform - on our own or with collaborators.
Our technology can create innovative, value-added formulations for
existing therapies, enable new discoveries (e.g. peptides), and
can create and test new therapeutic strategies.
Our "Protected Graft Co-polymer" (PGC) drug delivery
system uses proprietary carrier molecules and reversible "payload"
binding chemistries (PhamaIN reversible binding, PRB™) to create
new, innovative drug therapies for human disease. Using our technology
we aim to enable new, value-added drug therapies or make "old" drugs
better - more effective, easier to use, less toxic, and thus more
competitive and valuable in the marketplace. Our current focus is
on injected drugs. Mucosal delivery of our formulations (through
the lungs or sublingual in the mouth) is anticipated in the future.
Our platforms can be used to enhance drug pharmacokinetics
(i.e. how long a drug resides in the body, or "PK"), drug effectiveness,
solubility and bioavailability (i.e. how much of a dose reaches
the blood and is available to act therapeutically). Our technology
can also target a drug to tissues with abnormal vascular permeability
(e.g. tumor sites, inflammation). Our novel approach reduces chances
for systemic toxicity by improving drug delivery to the intended
site of action -- the specific target or receptor for the drug.
Our technology can enable many drug candidates and is especially
useful in combination with peptides - an untapped source of highly
active agents that, until now, have been poor drug candidates due
to susceptibility to enzyme degradation and rapid clearance by the
body.
